AtlasCare Cares to Share
As a large heating, cooling and indoor air quality contractor out of Oakville, AtlasCare has always been supportive of the communities it serves. Giving back is an important part of the company’s brand and a promise AtlasCare president Roger Grochmal takes very seriously.
With a few key organizations and initiatives supported every year and the number of ‘asks’ continually increasing, the folks at AtlasCare were looking for a more formal charitable giving program that would allow them to expand their reach.
AtlasCare’s “Care to Share” program was launched in May and the concept is simple: people go to the AtlasCare website and nominate a charity for a $1,000 donation – all they ask is that the not-for-profit be within AtlasCare’s service area and uses funds for local initiatives. Since its inception, the program has received 109 nominations with the number climbing daily.
Besides giving back to the community, the Care to Share program has been beneficial to AtlasCare in a number of ways:
- New traffic is being driven to its website creating invaluable opportunities for a new audience to be exposed to what AtlasCare offers.
- The community gets a say in who receives the donation by nominating multiple times. They are actively participating in the program and experiencing AtlasCare’s brand first-hand.
- People are also talking about it as evidenced by the over 18 nominations received in May for one particular organization, and the over 25 received (so far) in June for another. The word is spreading, people are taking notice and they are coming together to support their community.
- The program is a natural online community builder through social networking tools like Facebook creating another medium to communicate and create excitement.
- With monthly winners, there are scheduled and regular media relations activities which keep AtlasCare in front of local media and top of mind. These activities also raise awareness for the organizations who are draw recipients. It’s a win-win.
This is the most inspiring of great marketing ideas, because it generates business leads while building a better community. Talk about win-win. We’re delighted to have been involved.
