The World Cup

Have you been watching the World Cup? I generally don’t watch sports and don’t play soccer. But I wanted to see what all the fuss was about so I tuned in. Luckily, I have a sports fan husband who interprets my blank stares. Turns out soccer/football is pretty easy to follow. Of course, being the Diva of Design, I can appreciate the colourful uniforms too!

As we all know, the goalkeepers have different coloured jerseys so they stand out from the rest of the players on the pitch. They become the focal point, since all eyes are on goals scored. Design, as well, needs a focal point. A Diva Design Do.

Consider this the next time you’re looking at a design, piece of art, website or furniture arranged in a room… is there a focal point? Why has it been made the most important item? Would you agree?

If you don’t have a focal point, your design and message will be lost. Lost among everything else on the page, screen, or… pitch.
