So some blogger just said corporate blogs suck

I just read a blog titled “your corporate blog sucks! “.

After I took a deep breath, and calmed the panic rising in my chest ... I read on.

In fact the article did not say that THIS corporate blog sucks. Just that most of them do. The idea is that many corporate blogs are simply another way to get out the same messages that are sent via newsletters, press releases and other traditional marketing. The point was that a blog must be a way for people to connect with people, and that made me wonder ... is that not the point of great marketing? Are we not trying to get people to connect? Sometimes it is with a brand, granted, but in much of the work we do at MMG, it is not the big faceless brands we are helping. It is the HVAC contractors that strive to provide the very best of service. It is the real estate agent that loves to help people find a home. It is the group that offers food sector expertise to make companies run smoother and produce the best products.

At MMG we are all about people connecting with people. That is what is so wonderful about being here. We connect with each other, our clients and suppliers and help make those business connections for clients.

And this blog is also about connecting with us, and I don’t think it sucks ... not one bit!
